一般社団法人の日本写真学会は1926年（大正15年）に「東京写真学会」として創設され、1933年（昭和8年）に「日本写真学会」と名称変更され、2016年に設立90周年を迎えました。写真学会は、「写真に関する基盤技術の深耕と基盤技術の次世代画像映像分野への展開および写真文化の裾野拡大」を目指しています。そのために、①基盤技術を高度情報通信社会に展開させるアンビエント技術部会とアンビエント画像部会、②デジタルアーカイブを含む画像保存部会及び医用診断分野の医用画像部会、③写真産業を支える画像技術としての画像入出力部会と裾野拡大を目指 す写真文化拡大部会などで活動を行っています。さらに原子核乾板を用いて素粒子物理・宇宙物理分野の研究を行う
科学写真研究会、愛好者の多い天体写真技術研究会および写真好きのための講演会など多彩な活動を行っています。

日本写真学会のあけぼの
1926年に設立された日本写真学会は2016年の本年90周年の節目を迎えた。学会創設以前大阪において、「寫眞科學會」という十数人の有志のグループが活動をしていたという記録はあったが、その実態に関しては不明であった。今回学会事務局長を通じて、貴重な当時の会報を入手することができた。本報では、「寫眞科學會」の会報から同グループの活動を紹介すると共に、日本写真学会のあけぼの期である大正時代の写真
界の活動を振り返ってみる。

The Society of Photography and Imaging of Japan established in 1926 is celebrating this year the 90th anniversary of its foundation. Before its founding, it was reported that there was an activity of more than dozen of volunteers named “The Photographic Science Group” in Osaka, however, the details of the actual situation had remained unknown. In this year, through Mr. Yamagishi, the general secretary of this society, the author obtained valuable newsletters of that group. In this paper, the author would like to look back at the dawn of this society, through the stories of foundation of the society and activities of the Osaka group,.
